im still on vacation, and im having a pretty good time, i’m on my perferred sleep schedule (around 7 am till 1 pm) and having a good time night-coding, redoing the site into php, and then im gonna add a bunch of things and a bunch of comics- i went skiing yesterday which was real fun and i went to my alma matter today which also was great since i got to see alot of old friends and teachers. i gota a little lost though, dont know what the rest of my vaca will be like but i hope to go to Long island again, maybe chinatown and also maybe see the movies like Juno or sweeny todd- talk to you later

I’m in queens college (visiting a friend) now, taking a break from updating the website for a while, but when I come back there will be a whole bunch of improvements (better forums and blog functionality as well as a comic viewer that works MUCH better) and I have around 3 comics ill post on tuesday, if not more. I’m not really supposed to be on this computer right now (its for looking up books only, and i’m in the library) but i tried logging into my friend’s (daniel) account but I must have entered it in wrong maybe its Case SeNsItIvE ’cause after 3 tries it locked out of logging in, Im gonna be at Munch’s house today and tommorow and shabbos, its really great because I havn’t seen him in almost half a year and he is one of my best friends. I’m also going to see Mond and Teddy, and then saturday night us and his family are going to the UCB theater to see a improv show, which is gonna be a amaaazing cause i love UCB and the people from the show are from some pretty awesome tv shows. After long island i might go to Farrockaway even though my mom doesnt really think she wants me too…..we’ll see what happens. I might be able to interview for an internship I really hope I can get also…. Im so happy to be out of school right now- and i hope Munch does well on his final that hes taking right now for comp lit (thats why I’m at queens library right now) I have so much to think about right now, because i just finished reading an amazing book called Understanding Comics by Scott Mccloud and it was really more than I could have even guessed. The concepts and abrstract ideas brought up in the book were so interesting, I’m really impressed with the book. There was also the essay that Munch has to write, involving Oedipus and Job, and this got me thinking about how humans are more afraid of being impotent than they are of tragedy. The concept of not controlling your own destiny is scary, and the greatest power than man can posess, the power than he exudes over his own dominion (almost the very definition of power itself) is so dwarfed in the power that outside forces have on anything he does, its almost as if all the power in this world is a facade, a superficial illusion that tricks us into thinking our free will can alter our exisitance, when really the only thing we can do is to understand our destiny and by understanding it give meaning to our callings and alter the paths we take. I’ve always had these kind of existensial beliefs, but that book Understanding comics meant alot to me, because it was the first time I encountered art as a subject, and a well written book like that, one that I thought would shed light on comics, shed light on Art itself, and the Artist as a being, an artist is someone who does something that isn’t neccesary, something that evolutionary is not a primary goal (not to say that art isnt usefull as a secondary goal in evolutionary existance) but doing art is something which does not involve surviving or reproducting, it is something that you do to explore, express, or invent. Is it free will, or the illusion which controls our intellect that seperates man from the animal, or Art, the thing which envelopes philosophy, society and technology, and ultimatley the reason why man has gotten to where he has today.

Sorry for my lack of paragraphs, and overuse of existensialistic abstractions, i tend to do that when i philosophise, I hope that see everyone i miss so much from OJ, Munch (check), Mond, Teddy, Face, to name a few, and also everyone else who I’m forgetting who might be in the new york area. I also hope that I go to dougies, cause I miss them also. And i hope everyone has an enjoyable winter break (if your having one) and a happy kwanza.
